The exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the mesmerizing world of terracotta sculptures. On the opening day, a diverse audience, including both domestic and international guests, attended the showcase and admired Aarti’s intricate craftsmanship. Each sculpture is a testament to her dedication, taking up to six months to complete. “Even I am not able to make an exact replica of any of my sculptures,” says Aarti, highlighting the originality of her work. Each piece is born out of a different emotion, with each side of the sculpture having a different story to be deciphered.

Aarti completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Government Institute of Fine Arts, Gwalior, in 2004. She was attracted to terracotta out of a need to do something different and has not looked back since. She shifted to Bangalore in 2009 and has continued to work on her craft. Her innovative and unique style of representing rhythmic movements and intense emotions through terracotta has won her national as well as international acclaim.

Her works have been showcased in India and the USA and have won her numerous prestigious awards. Aarti is the sole Indian female artist to have earned multiple international awards for terracotta sculpture and represents the nation on an international platform with pride. She aims to break free from the typical outlook of terracotta as being related to pottery and folk art, seeking instead to transform it into a contemporary art medium.
